History

The Infor ERP SyteLine enterprise software solution has a proud heritage of addressing the information management needs of small to mid-sized manufacturers around the globe. Leveraging technology and the latest developments in methods and processes, Infor ERP SyteLine has grown and evolved to include the tools needed to be competitive in today’s global markets while retaining the solid functionality and ease-of-use that has pleased manufacturers from the beginning.

Infor ERP SyteLine has always valued the user base – each upgrade and improvement has been developed with user input and packaged to allow current users to easily migrate to the latest version. Many Infor ERP SyteLine users today have been relying on it since the 1980s and 1990s.

The Infor ERP SyteLine product entered a new phase of its history when it became a member of the Infor family with Infor’s acquisition of MAPICS in 2005. Infor brings size, focus and financial stability along with a technology base that together insure a long and productive future for Infor ERP SyteLine and its family of users.

Since the acquisition in 2005, Infor has made major investments in Infor ERP SyteLine over multiple releases. Nevertheless, Infor ERP SL version 8.0 is a major milestone in the evolution of the product, marking the completion of the full Microsoft .NET / Infor Open SOA deployment along with major enhancements in areas such as APS, configurator, and workflow.

As part of this launch we are also starting to re-brand the product from Infor ERP SyteLine to Infor ERP SL to recognize that Version 8.0 provides our customers with a state-of-the-art solution for the long term. Over the next year or so, you will see the transitional brand identifier Infor ERP SL (SyteLine) in various communications. Eventually, the brand will become simply Infor ERP SL for consistency with the naming convention used across all of Infor’s product solutions.
